Guidelines for your business name and storefront description

Your business name and description must follow our content and formatting requirements so that your storefront can be published correctly.

Business name

Your business name:

  • Must use capital letters appropriately. It cannot be written entirely in lowercase.
  • Cannot include a city or location name.
  • Cannot include a category or service name when this is being used as a generic keyword, unless the name is legitimately part of your business name or you own it as a domain name.
  • Must represent the actual name of your business.

If you want to change your business name, the request must be made using the email address linked to your account. We may ask you to provide evidence of the new business name, such as your website or social media profile.

Business description

Your storefront description must:

  • Be written in the third person.
  • Describe your business and services clearly.
  • Be original and relevant to your business.
  • Follow our content quality requirements.
  • Avoid direct contact information.
  • Avoid website addresses, domains or other direct contact details.
  • Not be copied exactly from your website or social media profiles.

Premium members can edit their description from their account. Changes may be reviewed before they are published.

Lite members cannot directly edit their description. If you need to request a change, contact us using the email address linked to your account.

Why your description may not be approved

We may ask you to change your description if it does not meet our content requirements, for example because it contains direct contact details, is not written in the required format or duplicates content published elsewhere.

If you make changes to your description, remember to save them before leaving the page.
